Londonderry NH business shredding near the airport and Route 102
Londonderry’s business addresses fall into two rough groups, and they shred differently. Up at the north end of town, Manchester-Boston Regional Airport is ringed by industrial roads such as Pettengill Road, Harvey Road, Delta Drive and Grenier Field Road. That area is home to warehouses, distribution buildings and light industry, many of them with loading docks and wide doors.
Farther south, Route 102 crosses I-93 at Exit 4 and runs west as Nashua Road toward Hudson, meeting Route 128 (Mammoth Road) on the way. That corridor carries offices, medical and dental practices, banks and service businesses. The town’s planning department also keeps master plans for two large planned unit developments, Woodmont Commons and The Village on Technology Hill.
Airport-area warehouses and shops
Shipping paperwork, driver and HR files, old invoices and purchase orders. Dock access usually means a simple pickup with no handling fee. Volumes tend to be big and irregular.
Route 102 offices and practices
Client files, patient charts, payroll and tax records. Often a ground-floor office in a small building or plaza, and regular loads from a locked console.
Home-based businesses
Consultants, contractors and bookkeepers working out of a Londonderry house. Usually a few boxes, and usually cheaper to drive down than to book a pickup.
We have no office, kiosk or drop box in Londonderry or anywhere in New Hampshire. Every box from every one of those addresses comes back to Tewksbury and goes through our shredder there. No one shows up with a shredder in your parking lot.
How a Londonderry business pickup works
Pickup is what most Londonderry businesses use, for a simple reason. A warehouse manager or practice administrator doesn’t want a staff member driving 26 miles each way with a car full of files. You book a date, stage the boxes, and hand them to our driver. The paper is shredded once it reaches our Tewksbury office.
Pickups always need an appointment. We never promise a same-day visit, so plan a few days ahead, and further ahead at the end of a quarter or the end of a lease. The full process is on our off-site shredding page.
- Book online or call. Use the booking form or call (978) 636-0301 with your street address, a box count, and anything that is not paper, such as hard drives or tapes.
- We confirm the zone and access. Your Londonderry address gets its zone at booking. The zone price assumes ground-level, dock or elevator access. Stairs or restricted access add a handling fee, quoted up front.
- Stage the boxes. Close and tape them, and stack them near the dock or door. Staples, clips, rubber bands and file folders can stay in. Pull three-ring binder hardware and hanging-folder frames.
- Hand them over. Have the person responsible for the records meet the driver. The boxes go into locked handling for the trip to Tewksbury.
- Keep the certificate. A Certificate of Destruction comes with every job. File it with your retention log.
Our printable shredding pickup checklist covers the same steps for whoever is doing the packing. If your building has a receiving desk, give them the booking confirmation so the driver isn’t left waiting at the wrong door.
What a Londonderry NH business shredding cleanout costs
The shredding charge is the same for a Londonderry business as for a walk-in customer at our counter. The transportation fee is the only part that depends on where you are. Here are the pieces, and our full shredding rates page lists the same numbers.
| Charge | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Large (banker’s) box | $20 per box | 10 or more boxes |
| Small box | $15 per box | 10 or more boxes |
| By weight | 99¢ per pound | Under 10 boxes, loose paper, bags |
| Per-job fees | $34.90 | $14.95 HIPAA filing (certificate paperwork) and $19.95 environmental (recycling) |
| Zone 1 transportation | $129.95 | Tewksbury area and the NH border towns |
| Zone 2 transportation | $159.95 | Greater Nashua and Manchester |
| Zone 3 transportation | $199.95 | The Seacoast and points farther north |
| Handling fee | Quoted up front | Only for stairs or restricted access |
| Hard drives and media | Quoted per item | Physically destroyed |
Your zone is confirmed for your street address when you book, so the chart shows a 20-box and a 40-box cleanout at every zone rate next to the drop-off price. Whatever zone you land in, the spread from the cheapest to the dearest pickup is $70.
Two things stand out. The zone fee is charged once per pickup, so it shrinks as a share of the bill as the job grows. And the box rate is what keeps a cleanout predictable. At 10 boxes and up you are paying per box, not per pound, so a dense box of shipping records costs the same as a light one.
Counter tip: under 10 boxes we charge by the pound. Nine banker’s boxes run about $267.30 before fees, and ten boxes on the flat rate are $200. If you are close to ten, round up.
What Londonderry businesses send us, and the rules behind it
Different businesses carry different legal reasons to shred. These are the numbers and rules we come back to most when Londonderry managers call.
HR and driver files
If you ran background checks or pulled consumer reports on applicants, the FTC Disposal Rule (16 CFR Part 682) says to burn, pulverize or shred them when you dispose of them. The FTC names employers specifically.
Payroll and tax records
The IRS says to keep employment tax records for at least 4 years after the tax is due or paid. Most income tax records can go after 3. After that, shred them rather than recycle them.
Patient charts
Practices on Route 102 fall under HIPAA. The Privacy Rule at 45 CFR 164.530(c) requires safeguards for health information through disposal. Our medical shredding service page covers the BAA.
Customer financial data
Tax preparers and other financial institutions under the FTC Safeguards Rule (16 CFR Part 314) must securely dispose of customer information within two years of last use, unless they have a reason to keep it.
- Shipping papers, bills of lading and purchase orders with account numbers
- Expired contracts, bids and pricing sheets
- Old HR files, I-9 copies and benefits paperwork past their keep date
- Printed reports from inventory, ERP or accounting systems
Before anything leaves the building, check it against your retention schedule. Our document retention guide lays out common keep periods for New Hampshire businesses.
Chain of custody from a Londonderry dock to our shredder
For a business, the certificate is only as good as the steps behind it. Here is the path a box takes after it leaves your building, and what you can show an auditor at each point.
Your side of the paper trail is short. Keep the booking confirmation, note the box count at the handoff, and file the certificate when it arrives. That gives you a record of what left, when it left, and when it was destroyed.
Ours runs from the handoff through locked handling to cross-cut shredding at our office, then baling and recycling of the shred. Our page on chain of custody shredding goes through each step and what the certificate of destruction proves.
If a manager needs to see the shredding, book a witnessed session instead. You bring the boxes to our office, stand at the shredder while they go through, and sign off on the certificate in person. It costs $1.99 a pound with a $100 job minimum, plus the $34.90 in per-job fees.
Planning a cleanout in a Londonderry business park
Cleanouts are where a pickup earns its fee. A tenant moving out of a building on Harvey Road, a company consolidating two sites, or an office on Route 102 clearing a decade of closed files all share the same problem: a lot of paper, a fixed date, and nobody with time to haul it. Our guide to office cleanout shredding covers the full playbook. These are the Londonderry-specific points.
| Situation | What to tell us at booking | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Dock or ground-floor door | Which door, and who will meet the driver | No handling fee, and a quick load |
| Mezzanine or upper-floor office, no elevator | The floor and the number of boxes | A handling fee applies, quoted before the day |
| Secure building with badge access | Check-in procedure and contact name | Keeps the driver from waiting at a locked gate |
| Hard drives, tapes or old laptops in the mix | A rough count of devices | Media is quoted per item and kept separate |
| Lease end or move date | The deadline | Pickups need an appointment, so we schedule ahead of it |
Media from a cleanout is physically destroyed and priced per item, never thrown in with the paper. Read our hard drive destruction page before you box up the server closet.
A company that purges every year spends less time on each cleanout than one that waits for a move. Our post on the benefits of an annual purge explains how to set a date and stick to it. Neighbors one exit south can read our post on Derry NH business shredding, which covers Route 102 on the Derry side.
When a Londonderry business should drive instead
For a few boxes, the zone fee is more than the shredding. One banker’s box costs about $64.60 at our counter, fees included. Five boxes cost about $183.40. A pickup would add at least $129.95 to either number, so a small office or home-based business usually comes out ahead by driving.
From the Town Hall at 268B Mammoth Road, the trip is about 26 miles and typically 35 to 40 minutes without traffic. Take I-93 south past Windham and Salem into Massachusetts, then I-495 south toward Lowell for about two miles. Exit at Route 133 for Tewksbury and Andover, follow North Street a little over two miles, and turn left onto Main Street. From the airport area, get onto I-93 at Exit 5 on Route 28 and add about ten minutes.
- Walk in Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., no appointment
- Free parking at the door, and staff help you unload
- Paper you drop off is shredded the same business day
- The $20 box rate applies at the counter too, once you bring 10 or more
Our rule of thumb: for five boxes, drive. For forty, book the pickup. In between, weigh the zone fee against what a staff member’s morning on I-93 actually costs. Londonderry households have their own guide to Londonderry NH home shredding.
One local note. Londonderry’s curbside carts and its seasonal Drop-Off Center on Recovery Way, off West Road, handle household trash, recycling and bulky items. Neither lists document shredding, and the town says the Drop-Off Center closes for the season after November 21, 2026.
Frequently asked questions
What pickup zone is a Londonderry business in?
We confirm the zone for your exact Londonderry address when you book. The transportation fees are $129.95 for Zone 1, $159.95 for Zone 2 and $199.95 for Zone 3. The fee is charged once per pickup, on top of the shredding rate and the $34.90 per-job fees, and your quote shows every piece before the day.
How much does Londonderry NH business shredding cost for a 40-box cleanout?
Forty large banker’s boxes are $800 at the $20 box rate, plus $34.90 in per-job fees, for $834.90. A pickup adds one zone fee, so the total is $964.85, $994.85 or $1,034.85 depending on the zone confirmed for your address. Stairs without an elevator add a handling fee, quoted up front.
Can you pick up from a loading dock near the airport?
Yes, and docks are the easiest pickups we do. The zone price assumes ground-level, dock or elevator access, so a dock pickup carries no handling fee. Tell us which door to use and who will meet the driver, and give your receiving desk the booking confirmation.
Do you shred at our Londonderry building?
No. We do not bring a shredder to your site. We load your sealed boxes, keep them in locked handling, and shred them at our office at 1215 Main Street, Unit 115, Tewksbury, MA. If someone must see the destruction, book a witnessed session at that office.
Do we need a contract for regular pickups?
There is no long-term contract to sign. Book a single cleanout, or book the same week every quarter for a recurring purge. Each pickup is priced the same way: the shredding rate, the $34.90 per-job fees and one transportation fee for your zone.
What about old hard drives and laptops from the office?
Bag them separately from the paper. Hard drives, tapes, discs, USB sticks and phones are physically destroyed and quoted per item. Give us a rough device count at booking so the quote covers them, and keep the certificate with your IT disposal records.
Do we have to remove staples, clips and folders?
No. Staples, paper clips, binder clips, rubber bands and file folders can stay in. Please remove three-ring binder hardware, the metal frames from hanging folders, and anything that is not paper. Everything else goes in the box as it is.
How far ahead should we book a Londonderry pickup?
Pickups are by appointment, and we never promise same-day service. Book as soon as you know your date, and earlier for a lease end or the last week of a quarter. If something can’t wait, drive it to our counter any weekday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
