Southern New Hampshire — Locally Owned Since 2007

Document Shredding
You Can Actually Trust

We started in 2007 because we were fed up with shredding companies that showed up late, charged hidden fees, and treated small clients like an afterthought. Seventeen years later, that frustration is still the fuel behind everything we do: transparent pricing, no surprises, and a Certificate of Destruction on every job — no matter how small.

“I called one of the big shredding companies, they showed up late, the invoice had fees I had never agreed to, and when I pushed back, they told me they were not really in the business of serving small residential clients. That experience lit a fire. If I felt that way, everyone did.”
— Mr. Bechat, Founder, New Hampshire Document Shredding

Why We Started — and Why It Still Matters

In 2007, our founder Mr. Bechat had accumulated years of sensitive personal and business documents that needed secure shredding. He scheduled service with a large national provider, expecting a simple, professional experience. What he got instead was a truck that arrived late, a bill loaded with undisclosed fees, and a company that made clear it preferred larger corporate contracts over individual clients.

That experience became the blueprint for everything New Hampshire Document Shredding is not. We launched with a single commitment: do the things that other shredding companies would not. Show up on time. Publish your rates online. Charge what you quote. Treat a homeowner with one bag of documents with the same respect you give a hospital system with ten filing cabinets.

Seventeen years and 600+ clients later, that commitment has not changed. We are still locally owned and operated, still publishing our rates where anyone can find them, and still issuing a notarized Certificate of Destruction on every job — regardless of size, industry, or whether the client is a law firm or a retired schoolteacher clearing out a basement.

Meet Dianna — Our Compliance Lead

Certified Secure Destruction Specialist (CSDS) • Over 10 Years Experience
CSDS Certified HIPAA Specialist FACTA Compliance Environmental Compliance 10+ Years Experience

Dianna joined Neighborhood Parcel in 2007 and has been the driving compliance force behind New Hampshire Document Shredding ever since. As a Certified Secure Destruction Specialist, she leads every aspect of our operational security — from how documents are collected and transported, to how our facility meets and exceeds regulatory standards for HIPAA, FACTA, SOX, and NH state privacy law.

Under Dianna’s leadership, the company has developed rigorous protocols for chain-of-custody documentation, employee background checks, and the issuance of notarized Certificates of Destruction — the compliance documentation that our healthcare, legal, and financial clients depend on for regulatory audits. Her deep familiarity with HIPAA and FACTA requirements means that when a compliance question arises — from a hospital compliance officer, a CPA, or an attorney — Dianna provides specific, accurate answers, not generic reassurances.

Her guiding principle: every document we shred belongs to a person or an organization that trusted us with it. That trust is the most important thing we handle every day.

Our Journey

From a single frustrated customer experience to southern New Hampshire’s most trusted shredding service — here is how we got here.

2007
Founded on a Frustration
Mr. Bechat launches New Hampshire Document Shredding under the Neighborhood Parcel umbrella in Tewksbury, MA. The mission: transparent pricing, no hidden fees, no minimum volumes, and service that treats every client with equal respect.
2009
Medical and Healthcare Expansion
Growing demand from medical practices, dental offices, and healthcare providers across southern NH leads to the formalization of our HIPAA-compliant medical shredding service with dedicated chain-of-custody protocols and notarized Certificate of Destruction documentation.
2012
Witnessed Shredding Introduced
Client demand from attorneys and financial advisors who needed visual, documented confirmation of destruction leads to the launch of our witnessed shredding service — the only shredding option in southern NH where you watch every document destroyed in person.
2015
Rates Published Online — First in NH
We become the only shredding company in southern New Hampshire to publish our complete rate schedule online with no quote required. This remains one of our most distinctive differentiators: you know exactly what you will pay before you ever call us.
2019
Media Destruction Service Added
The rise of digital record management and IT equipment turnover creates demand for physical hard drive and media destruction. We expand our service portfolio to include destruction of hard drives, SSDs, USB drives, CDs, DVDs, and magnetic backup tapes — with Certificate of Destruction for every device.
2024
600+ Clients — BBB A+ Accredited
After 17 years of consistent service, transparent pricing, and zero hidden-fee surprises, we reach 600+ clients served across New England and earn BBB A+ accreditation — the independent recognition that we have kept our founding promise to every client, every time.

What We Believe

These are not marketing slogans. They are the operational principles that have guided every decision we have made since 2007.

🔍
Radical Transparency
We publish our rates online because we have nothing to hide. What you see on our pricing page is what you pay when you arrive — no transportation surcharges, no environmental fees disclosed only at checkout, no minimum volume requirements on drop-off. Every fee is stated upfront, every time.
🔒
Security Without Exception
We treat every document we touch as if it were our own most sensitive financial record. Our chain of custody is documented from the moment your material leaves your hands until the moment it is destroyed. Every employee is background-checked. The facility is monitored 24/7. There are no shortcuts.
⚖
Compliance You Can Prove
A Certificate of Destruction is not optional or a premium add-on at our company — it is standard on every job. Because HIPAA, FACTA, SOX, and NH state law do not ask you to destroy documents responsibly; they ask you to prove it. Our paperwork is your protection.
🤝
Every Client Matters
We started because a big company treated a small client badly. We have never forgotten that. The homeowner with one bag of old tax returns gets the same professional service, the same documentation, and the same respect as a hospital system with hundreds of boxes. No job is too small to matter.
♻
Environmental Responsibility
Every document we shred is baled and transferred to a certified paper recycler — nothing goes to a landfill. Every ton of paper recycled saves approximately 17 trees and significant water and energy resources. Protecting your privacy and protecting the environment are not competing goals for us.
🏘
Community Investment
We are a locally owned small business, and the communities of southern New Hampshire are our neighbors, not just our clients. The people who work here live in these communities. We care about what happens to the information we handle because it belongs to our neighbors. That accountability does not exist at a national chain.

What Makes Us Different

There are several shredding companies operating in southern New Hampshire. Here is why clients choose us — and why they keep coming back.

💰
Only NH Shredding Company to Publish Rates Online
Competitors require you to call for a quote — a process designed to create pricing leverage. We publish everything: drop-off rates, pickup rates, per-box pricing, and flat fees. Visit our rates page and you will know your exact cost before you ever contact us.
📜
Certificate of Destruction on Every Job — No Exceptions
Many providers reserve compliance documentation for large commercial accounts. We issue a notarized Certificate of Destruction on every job — a grocery bag of old statements or a 100-box office purge. Compliance documentation is not a premium feature here. It is standard practice.
🚫
No Minimums, No Contracts, No Lock-In
We do not require minimum volumes, annual contracts, or long-term service commitments. Bring us one folder or fifty banker’s boxes. Use us once and never again, or use us every month. Either way, you get the same service, the same price, and the same documentation.
🧠
Real Compliance Expertise Available to Every Client
Our Certified Secure Destruction Specialist leads every operation and is available to answer compliance questions from any client. When a medical practice asks about HIPAA record destruction requirements, or an attorney asks about professional conduct compliance, we give specific answers — not a referral to a compliance hotline.

Our Compliance Coverage

Every service we offer is built around the laws that govern how sensitive documents must be handled and destroyed in New Hampshire and under federal law.

HIPAA
Health Information Privacy
Requires healthcare providers and their business associates to destroy Protected Health Information in a manner that renders it unreadable and unable to be reconstructed. Learn more on our HIPAA compliance page.
FACTA
Consumer Data Disposal
Applies to any person or business that possesses consumer report information. Requires reasonable measures to protect this information before disposal. Applies to individuals and businesses alike. See our FACTA guide.
SOX
Financial Records
Imposes document retention and destruction requirements on public companies and their service providers. Deliberate improper destruction can carry criminal penalties. Our corporate governance page covers SOX-compliant practices.
GLBA
Financial Privacy
Requires financial institutions, CPAs, and insurance agencies to protect the confidentiality of non-public personal financial information through its entire lifecycle — including at disposal.
NH RSA 359-C
NH Consumer Protection
New Hampshire’s own state privacy statute requires businesses to take reasonable steps to protect personal information before disposal. A Certificate of Destruction from a certified shredder is the clearest documentation of compliance.
NH RPC 1.6
Attorney Confidentiality
NH Rules of Professional Conduct extend attorney-client confidentiality through the physical destruction of records. Our witnessed shredding with documented chain of custody satisfies this requirement.

17 Years of Keeping Southern NH’s Secrets Safe

We built this company on one promise: do what the big companies will not do. Treat every client fairly, charge what we say we will charge, and prove we did the job right with a Certificate of Destruction in your hand before you leave. We have kept that promise since 2007. We will keep it for your next job too.
