Quick answer
New Hampshire Document Shredding serves Londonderry from its only office, 1215 Main Street, Unit 115, Tewksbury, MA, about 26 miles from Londonderry Town Hall by I-93. A pickup from Londonderry is normally Zone 2: a $159.95 transportation fee plus 99 cents per pound (or $20 per banker’s box at 10 or more) and $34.90 in per-job fees, with the zone confirmed at booking. If you drive the boxes down yourself, the same document shredding costs only the per-pound rate and the $34.90 fees.
Londonderry’s paper, from Exit 4 to the airport roads
Londonderry is two towns in one when it comes to paper. There is the residential town along Mammoth Road and the back roads, where the paper is tax returns and old bank statements. And there is the working town along I-93 and around the airport, where the paper is shipping records, HR files and invoices by the pallet. Each side needs something different from us.
Pettengill Road and the airport side
The industrial and distribution buildings south of Manchester-Boston Regional Airport produce bills of lading, driver files, payroll and vendor contracts. Volume is the issue. Most of these jobs are 10 boxes or more and fit a booked pickup.
Woodmont Commons and Exit 4
Off Pillsbury Road by Exit 4, the mixed-use development is planned around shops, offices, medical space and housing. Medical and professional tenants carry HIPAA and client-file duties. Leasing offices hold rental applications with credit data.
Route 102 and Route 28
Londonderry’s two state roads carry the town’s smaller offices, shops and service businesses. A one-room office often has five or six boxes a year. That is a drop-off job, or a pickup only when nobody has time to drive.
Homes in 03053
Londonderry has one ZIP code, 03053, and a lot of homes in it. Households here mostly shred at tax time, after a move, or when settling a parent’s estate. Two to six boxes, one weekday trip.
If you run a business, read the pickup and cost sections first. If you are clearing a closet at home, skip down to the drive and the household section. Both paths end at the same shredder in Tewksbury and the same Certificate of Destruction. Our Londonderry business shredding page goes deeper on office cleanouts near the airport and along Route 102.
How a Zone 2 pickup works for a Londonderry office
A pickup means a driver collects sealed boxes from your Londonderry building, carries them to the van, and brings them to our Tewksbury office, where they are shredded. We do not shred in your parking lot. There is no truck with a shredder on it. The paper leaves your building in a locked chain of custody and is destroyed at our office after it arrives.
Pricing is simple. The shredding charge is the same as at our counter: 99 cents a pound for fewer than 10 boxes, or $15 per small box and $20 per large banker’s box once you reach 10. Add the $34.90 per-job fees and the transportation fee for your zone. Londonderry is normally Zone 2, at $159.95, and we confirm that when you book.
The zone price assumes ground-level or elevator access. A second-floor office with no elevator, or a building where the driver has to sign in through security, adds a handling fee. We quote it before the job, never after. Our off-site shredding page lists the full rules.
- Count and pack. Fill banker’s boxes with lids and tape them shut. Leave staples, clips and folders in. Pull binder rings and hanging-folder frames. Bag any hard drives or phones separately.
- Book online or by phone. Give the Londonderry address, the box count, and the access details. We confirm the zone and quote any stair or access fee up front.
- Stage the boxes. Put them near the door you named, on the ground floor or by the elevator. The visit is short when the boxes are ready.
- Hand over and sign. The driver counts the boxes with you and you sign for them. From that moment they are in our custody.
- Shredded in Tewksbury. The boxes go to 1215 Main Street and are cross-cut shredded at the office after they arrive. The shred is recycled.
- File the certificate. You receive a Certificate of Destruction for the job. Keep it with your retention log or compliance binder.
Pickups are booked, not same day. If you are moving out of a Londonderry lease, or an auditor wants a purge done by quarter end, book a week or two ahead and tell us the date that matters. For the price differences between towns, our page on how pickup zones change the price compares Zone 1, 2 and 3 with examples.
What shredding from Londonderry costs
Three numbers decide every bill: the shredding charge, the $34.90 in per-job fees ($14.95 HIPAA filing, which covers the certificate, and $19.95 environmental, which covers recycling the shred), and the zone fee if we pick up. The chart shows the four sizes we quote most often. The figures assume full banker’s boxes at about 30 pounds each.
Here are four typical Londonderry jobs priced three ways. Witnessed shredding costs $1.99 a pound with a $100 minimum and is always at our office, so it has no zone fee. It is shown for comparison, not because most people need it.
| Typical job | Drop-off in Tewksbury | Zone 2 pickup | Witnessed at our office |
|---|---|---|---|
| Household, 3 banker’s boxes (about 90 lb) | $124.00 | $283.95 | $214.00 |
| Home office, 6 banker’s boxes (about 180 lb) | $213.10 | $373.05 | $393.10 |
| Small office, 12 small boxes at $15 | $214.90 | $374.85 | Priced by weight |
| Warehouse office, 25 banker’s boxes at $20 | $534.90 | $694.85 | Priced by weight |
Notice the jump at 10 boxes. Under 10, you pay by the pound. At 10 or more, the flat box rate applies, which is cheaper per box than the pound rate on a full banker’s box. A Londonderry office that has eight or nine boxes should look for one more before booking. Our full shredding rates page shows every line.
For a 25-box office purge, the $159.95 pickup fee buys back a staff member’s afternoon and two or three car trips down I-93. For three boxes from home, it is more than the shredding itself. Drive those.
Driving your boxes from Londonderry to Tewksbury
From Londonderry Town Hall at 268B Mammoth Road, our office is about 26 miles away, and the drive takes roughly 35 to 40 minutes in light traffic. Almost all of it is I-93 South. Where you join the interstate depends on which end of town you live in.
From Town Hall, the most direct way is Pillsbury Road and Gilcreast Road over to Route 102, then the southbound ramp at Exit 4. Stay on I-93 through Windham and Salem and across the Massachusetts line at Methuen. In Andover, keep right for I-495 South toward Lowell.
After a short run on I-495, take the Route 133 exit for Tewksbury and Andover, then turn left onto North Street. Follow it about two miles to the end and turn left onto Main Street, Route 38. Our office is about a third of a mile along at number 1215, Unit 115, with free parking at the door.
If you miss Route 133, do not worry. The next exit on I-495 is Route 38. Take it toward Tewksbury and follow Main Street south about two and a half miles. It is a slightly longer way in, but you cannot get lost on it.
The counter is open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and drop-off needs no appointment. A mid-morning start from Londonderry usually means a quiet I-93. Our drop-off shredding page explains what happens once you walk in, and our Londonderry home shredding guide covers a household trip in more detail.
How long Londonderry businesses keep paper before it is shredded
Deciding which boxes are allowed to go is the hardest part of a purge, not the shredding itself. The IRS publishes the general periods for tax records, and they are the starting point for most small offices.
Those are federal tax periods only. Your industry may set longer ones, your insurer may ask for more, and a lawsuit or audit can freeze destruction until it is resolved. Our document retention guide collects the common New Hampshire periods in one place. When the period is up, shredding is how you finish the job properly.
Several federal rules name the method as well as the duty. The FTC’s Disposal Rule, 16 CFR Part 682, tells anyone who uses consumer report information, such as a landlord or an employer running background checks, to dispose of it by burning, pulverizing or shredding. The GLBA Safeguards Rule, 16 CFR Part 314, covers financial institutions, which includes tax preparers.
Medical and dental offices answer to HIPAA, which expects paper with protected health information to be destroyed so it cannot be read or put back together. We sign a Business Associate Agreement on request. Practices near Exit 4 or anywhere in town can read our medical shredding service page for the practice side.
New Hampshire adds a reason of its own. RSA 359-C:20 requires a business to notify affected people when their personal information is exposed in a security breach. A dumpster full of unshredded client files is the kind of exposure nobody wants to explain. A Certificate of Destruction is the record that the paper was handled properly.
Planning a bigger purge at a Londonderry business
Most office purges stall for the same reason. Nobody owns the job. The boxes sit in a storage room off the warehouse floor for another year because no one is sure what can go. A little planning turns a vague chore into one booked pickup.
Start with a list, not a shredder. Walk the storage room and label each box with what it holds and the year of the newest document in it. That one date tells you whether the box has passed its retention period. A box of 2017 vendor invoices is a different decision from a box of 2023 personnel files.
Then split the boxes into three piles: keep, shred now, and ask. The ask pile goes to whoever handles your taxes, your HR or your legal questions. Do not shred anything tied to an open audit, an open insurance claim or a lawsuit, even if the date says it is old enough.
Count the shred-now pile and book once. Ten boxes is the point where the flat box rate kicks in, and a single pickup for 30 boxes costs one zone fee, not three. If your building has a loading dock or a ground-floor door, mention it when you book so the price stays at the Zone 2 rate.
Finally, file the paperwork. Keep the Certificate of Destruction with your box list. Together they show what was destroyed, when, and by whom. If anyone later asks what happened to the 2017 invoices, you can answer in a minute instead of a week.
- Label each box with its contents and the year of its newest document.
- Hold back anything under audit, litigation or an open claim.
- Aim for 10 or more boxes per job to get the flat box rate.
- Tell us about stairs or restricted access when you book.
- Keep the certificate and the box list together in one file.
No long-term contract is needed for any of this. Book a pickup when the storage room fills, and not before. If a purge turns up old computers or phones, bag them apart from the paper. Drives are physically destroyed and quoted per item, and like every job they come with a certificate of destruction.
Londonderry’s blue cart, the Drop Off Center, and where paper belongs
Londonderry runs curbside collection through town-provided carts. According to the town, trash goes out every week in the green cart and recycling every other week in the 96-gallon blue cart, by 7 a.m. on your collection day. Whether your recycling week is a blue week or a gray week depends on the color of your cart’s lid.
Recyclables go in the blue cart loose, never bagged. The town’s brochure lists the paper it takes: newspaper and catalogs, telephone books, junk mail, magazines, cardboard, and cereal and cracker boxes. No plastic bags, no film, no Styrofoam.
Extra recycling, bulky items and yard waste go to the Londonderry Drop Off Center at 13 Recovery Way, off West Road. For 2026 its Saturday hours run 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with the entrance gate closed after 3:15, and it added Wednesday evening hours over the summer. Payment for fee items is by check or card, no cash.
The season is ending. The town posted that the Drop Off Center closes for the season after Saturday, November 21, 2026, and reopens in the spring of 2027. The same morning, the fall household hazardous waste collection runs at the DPW facility, 120 High Range Road. That event takes chemicals and paint, not paper.
None of this is a privacy service. Paper in a recycling cart travels loose through a truck and a sorting line. That is fine for a pizza box. It is not fine for a pay stub, a patient intake form or a credit application.
| Paper | Where it goes | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Newspapers, catalogs, magazines, plain junk mail | Your blue cart | No personal data. The town accepts it. |
| Cardboard and cereal boxes | Your blue cart, flattened | On the town’s list. |
| Bank and card statements, pay stubs, tax returns | Shred with us | Account numbers and Social Security numbers. |
| Medical bills, EOBs, prescriptions | Shred with us | Health and insurance details. |
| Rental applications, background checks | Shred with us | Consumer report data under 16 CFR Part 682. |
| Hard drives, phones, USB sticks | Bag separately, quoted per item | Media is physically destroyed, not shredded with paper. |
Our shred does end up recycled, all of it. The difference is that it is unreadable before it leaves our building. If you prefer a free option for a small bag, watch for community shred events in the area. For anything bigger, or on a schedule that suits you, use the counter or book the pickup.
For Londonderry households: one trip, done
A household job from Londonderry is almost always a drop-off. Two to six boxes, a weekday morning, and you are back in town before lunch. The shredding charge on three banker’s boxes is $89.10, and with the fees it is $124.00. Our residential shredding page explains what households usually keep and what they can let go.
Tax season is the busy stretch. People finish this year’s return, look at the drawer of old ones, and decide the drawer has to go. The IRS general rule is three years for most returns, longer in the cases shown above. Keep the return itself and the records that back it until the period runs out, then shred.
The second busy stretch is moving. Downsizing out of a colonial off Mammoth Road into something smaller usually turns up a decade of statements in the basement. Shred before the move, not after. You pay by the pound either way, but you will not want to carry it twice.
Estates are the third. If you are settling a parent’s affairs in Londonderry, set aside what the estate attorney, the final income tax return and any open insurance claim need. Then shred the rest. Our page on estate and downsizing shredding lists what to hold back.
And if you would rather see it happen, a witnessed shredding session lets you stand beside the shredder in Tewksbury. Book it ahead. It costs $1.99 a pound with a $100 minimum, plus the same $34.90 fees.
- Leave staples, paper clips, binder clips, rubber bands and folders in the paper.
- Remove three-ring binder hardware and hanging-folder frames.
- Put drives, phones and discs in a separate bag for a per-item quote.
- Pull out deeds, titles, passports, birth certificates and your latest return before you tape the box.
Londonderry’s neighbours on our map
Londonderry shares Exit 4 with Derry, and a lot of Londonderry residents work on the Derry side of it. Our Derry shredding service page covers the same Zone 2 pickup and the Derry transfer station rules. To the west, Route 102 runs straight into Hudson, and our Hudson shredding service page covers that town’s industrial parks and its own way down to Tewksbury.
Every New Hampshire town we serve, with its pickup zone and its best route to our office, is on the service areas page. If you are unsure which zone your Londonderry address falls in, the booking form confirms it, or you can call and ask.
Frequently asked questions
Which pickup zone is Londonderry, NH in?
Londonderry is normally Zone 2, the zone for greater Nashua and Manchester, with a $159.95 transportation fee. Zone 1 at $129.95 covers the border towns such as Salem, Pelham and Windham. We confirm the exact zone for your Londonderry address when you book, so the quote you get is the price you pay.
Do you shred at my Londonderry office?
No. We do not shred at your address, and there is no truck with a shredder on it. A pickup means a driver collects your sealed boxes and brings them to our office at 1215 Main Street, Unit 115, Tewksbury, MA, where they are cross-cut shredded after they arrive. You receive a Certificate of Destruction for the job.
How much does it cost to shred 25 boxes from a Londonderry business?
At 10 or more boxes the flat rate applies: $20 per banker’s box or $15 per small box. Twenty-five banker’s boxes come to $500.00, plus $34.90 in per-job fees, or $534.90 if you drive them to our counter. As a Zone 2 pickup, add $159.95 for a total of $694.85. Stairs or restricted access add a handling fee, quoted up front.
How long is the drive from Londonderry to your office?
About 26 miles from Londonderry Town Hall, roughly 35 to 40 minutes in light traffic. Take Route 102 to I-93 South at Exit 4, or Route 28 to Exit 5 from the north end of town. Then follow I-495 South toward Lowell, take the Route 133 exit, North Street, and turn left onto Main Street, Route 38.
Can I put shredded paper in the Londonderry blue cart?
The town’s list of accepted paper covers newspaper, catalogs, junk mail, magazines and boxboard, and it does not mention shredded paper, so ask the town’s Solid Waste division before putting loose shred in your cart. When we shred your paper, you do not deal with the shred at all. We keep it and recycle 100 percent of it.
Do I need an appointment to drop off?
No. Walk in any weekday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. We weigh your boxes where you can see the scale, tell you the total, and shred the paper the same business day. Pickups and witnessed sessions do need an appointment, which you can book online or by calling (978) 636-0301.
Do you sign Business Associate Agreements for Londonderry practices?
Yes. Covered entities and business associates can ask for a Business Associate Agreement before the first job. Every job, drop-off or pickup, comes with a Certificate of Destruction covered by the $14.95 HIPAA filing fee. Many practices book a pickup for the annual purge and drop off small loads in between.
Can you destroy old hard drives along with the paper?
Yes, but separately. Hard drives, tapes, CDs, USB sticks and phones are physically destroyed and quoted per item, so bag them apart from the paper and tell us how many when you book. Our hard drive destruction page explains how media jobs work.
